A purified protein that prevents fine lines and deep wrinkles from appearing by relaxing the contracted muscles. Reduces the appearance of lines and wrinkles already formed, by relaxing muscles, restoring a more youthful appearance. Overtime the treatment re-educates the muscle so time between treatments will increase Untreated areas of the face aren’t affected, so you can still smile and frown, but the skin on the treated areas won’t wrinkle as much as usual. Botox treatments are non-invasive with virtually no recovery time necessary; you can resume your normal activities immediately after treatment. Not permanent and will naturally break down. Lines and wrinkles can be minimised by using a purified protein produced by a bacteria which induces long-term relaxation of contracted muscles. This product was originally used to treat eye spasms and central nervous system disorders. Botox treatments are ideal for easing over-active muscle movement that can cause deep frown lines and crows feet. It can also be used to reduce excess perspiration ‘Hyperhidrosis’ (excessive sweating)and more recently to alleviate the symptoms of migraines. Encourages muscle re-education, as the Clostridium Botulinum bacteria which induces long-term relaxation of contracted muscles. Lines and wrinkles are a natural and unstoppable part of the ageing process. While they are inevitable they can be prevented and reduced.
What should I avoid following treatment?
To help reduce the accidental spread of Botox® to neighbouring muscle groups, we recommend that you avoid lying flat for 4 hours post treatment and avoid the following activities for around 24 hours:
- Rubbing or massaging the area treated
- Vigorous exercise
- Any “facial” beauty treatments
Some patients experience a slight headache after their injections, which can be managed with paracetamol if required. Following this period you can use your normal skin care routine.
How long will it be before I see the results of Botox treatment?
- Botox® can take from 2 days to up to 2 weeks before a muscle relaxing effect occurs. Remember, however, that the aim of treatment is not to stop all expression, but to reduce the intensity of the muscle activity that causes the lines in the areas treated. This gives the skin a chance to rest from the repeated furrowing and creasing that can occur hundreds of times a day, enabling the wrinkles or folds to gradually soften overtime.
- When Botox® begins to work, you may notice some temporary strange “sensations” around the treated areas as the muscles that have not been injected adjust.
- What should I do if Botox® treatment doesn’t appear to be working, or if I have any problems?
- If this is the first time that you have received Botox® with Skin Truth we would ideally like to see you a couple of weeks after treatment to discuss the results that we have achieved. If you cannot schedule a return appointment, and you find that you have had no observable effect after 2 weeks, please contact us.
- If you have a good initial result, please note that, as recommended by the manufacturers of Botox®, we aim not to perform any “top-up” treatments within a 3 month period following your treatment

We all have areas of stubborn fat that we struggle to get rid of. For some of us, no matter how much we diet or exercise, we simply can’t get rid of certain pockets of fat. For many people, fat deposits are actually genetic too – meaning you will always have those pockets of fat – unless you remove them with a procedure like this.
If those fatty deposits knock your confidence on a daily basis, and you find yourself feeling self-conscious because of them, maybe it’s time for a change? Why not take a step toward the body you want and the shape you want, and opt for Injection Lipolysis or fat reduction / dissolving injections that can help you contour your body, and fill you with much-needed body confidence?
What is lipolysis?
It is a revolutionary product that helps with local fat reduction. It may remove unflattering and stubborn areas of fat without the need for liposuction or surgery. Injection lipolysis works by hydrolysing the wall of the fat cells and therefore making it release its lipid content within. This then breaks down the fat cells and lets them be removed from the body via natural processes.
Injection Lipolysis is a flexible fat dissolving injection treatment as it can be used almost anywhere in the body and is particularly popular in reducing fatty deposits such as upper arms, double chins, and muffin tops.
Popular areas for Injection Lipolysis:
- Double chin
- Upper arms
- Buffalo humps
- Chest fat (in men)
- Lower abdomen
- Muffin top Hips
- Pre jowl sulcus
- Inner thighs
- Knees
Studies have proven that injection lipolysis causes the splitting of fat cells which subsequently leads to the natural clearance of fat via the normal system in the liver. The treatments are done every 3-4 weeks until the desired result is achieved. On average 3-5 sessions are required depending on the volume of the fat deposit.
Does It Hurt?
Your practitioner will numb the area locally for you prior to making any injections, so you’ll feel very little pain or discomfort. As with any needle procedure or injection, there is a risk of redness, bruising, or swelling after this fat reduction – but this is completely normal with Injection Lipolysis.
If at any point you’re in pain or feel unsure about any after-effects, it’s important to speak to your practitioner.
Will I need to take time off work?
Most people don’t need time off work for this treatment and some patients even choose to go straight back to work afterward. You may want to take a day off for convenience, but if you have your treatment on a weekend, you’ll need no time off for recovery.
How many treatments do you need?
This depends from patient to patient – but most people will need at least 4 treatments to see the results they’re after. Fat dissolving injection treatments are recommended between 4-6 weeks apart, which is usually how long any swelling can potentially last.

Body Treatments like Platelet Rich Plasma injections a.k.a. PRP injections are an emerging modality for promoting new hair growth and increasing hair thickness in male and female patients with hair loss.
What are PRP injections and how do they work?
PRP or platelet-rich plasma injections are an in-office procedure that leverages growth factors released from platelets in your own blood to stimulate hair follicle activity and promote new hair growth. A small vial of blood is taken from a vein in your arm and processed to increase the concentration of platelets in a fraction of plasma. This platelet rich plasma is then injected into the scalp in areas of hair thinning.
Can PRP Body treatments be combined with other treatments for hair thinning and hair loss?
PRP injections are often combined with other treatments for hair thinning and loss including hair growth supplements, topical OTC treatments such as Rogaine and/or oral prescription medications to promote hair regrowth such as Propecia.
Is there any downtime or side effects associated with PRP injections for hair loss or thinning?
There is generally minimal downtime associated with PRP injections. Some potential side effects include bruising, soreness, headache or temporary swelling of scalp and forehead.
How many treatments are recommended?
While the number of treatments may vary depending on individual factors, an initial series of treatments is usually recommended at monthly intervals for three months followed by maintenance injections every six to twelve months. Patients usually notice results within two to three months.
Are there any pre or post treatment precautions?
You should not take aspirin, Aleve, Advil, Motrin or any prescription anti-inflammatory medication for one week prior to treatment since these medications reduce inflammation which may lessen your results. Cigarette smoking at any time will also diminish results. Following treatment you should not apply keratin hair fibers to your scalp or color or cut your hair for three days
Are there any contraindications to PRP scalp injections ?
PRP is not recommended for advanced hair loss or hair loss associated with scarring. You should also not have PRP injections if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have a platelet or blood disorder or are taking immunosuppressive medications such as corticosteroids, or biologic medications.

Carboxytherapy
Carboxytherapy refers to the cutaneous and subcutaneous administration of carbon dioxide gas (CO2) for therapeutic purposes. Carboxytherapy originated at the Medical Spa of Royat, France in 1932 with the treatment of patients afflicted by peripheral arterial occlusive disease. Studies have demonstrated that carboxytherapy improves skin elasticity, improves circulation, encourages collagen repair, improves the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and destroys localized fatty deposits. Carbon dioxide is a natural constituent of our very being. We breathe in oxygen, and we exhale carbon dioxide. Plants take up the carbon dioxide, and in turn give us the oxygen that we need. There are no known risks associated with carboxytherapy.
Carbon dioxide is present in our bodies at all times. We breathe in oxygen, and we exhale carbon dioxide. Plants take up the carbon dioxide, and in turn give us the oxygen that we need.
How it works
Carbon Dioxide also happens to be the signal for poor blood circulation in the body. All cells in the body, regardless of their job (heart cells, brain cells, skin cells) release as their waste product carbon dioxide.
Carbon dioxide is the “cost of doing business” of any cell in our bodies. So, we breathe in oxygen to our lungs, the red blood cells pick up the oxygen in our lungs and carry it to our tissues until they encounter an area that has been working hard and has an excess of carbon dioxide.
When the blood cells are exposed to high concentrations of carbon dioxide, they flip their conformation, release the oxygen molecules, and pick up the carbon dioxide so that we can exhale it from our lungs.
In a sense, by injecting small amounts of carbon dioxide gas just below the surface of the skin, we are tricking it into increasing the blood circulation to that area. Dark under-eye circles, cellulite, and stretch marks have all been shown to have some root cause in poor blood circulation.
Carboxytherapy is a medical procedure using small injections of medical grade carbon dioxide gas, in controlled amounts, below the skin’s surface via a specially designed machine. As the gas is infused a brief feeling of discomfort may be felt, so numbing cream is applied to the treatment area an hour before treatment
